[ウルトラ] I Need videos!
I wonder why it's impossible to find out good ULTRA runs around. It would be great to see some >1 bil videos both for improving my strats and enjoying some lovely stuff. Is anyone aware of something around? The ULTRA WR belongs to DAME K.K, a great player who is quite used to record his runs (at least for appreciate dvds) so I think it's possible that something actually exist.
Also, I'm hating the PS2 limit of playing with only one autofire on A (A+) and one on C (C+). I'll need at least (at least!) 2 A+ for ULTRA. And more stuff for Maniac. I wonder what kind of frequencies is TRGA-RET using on the DVD run, what DAME K.K used for the WR (before that new kind of autofire that he and SWY were using)...
If someone can help on this IN ANY LANGUAGE (even japanese!) it would be much appreciated!

are available are all pretty low-scoring. I have some that are not on superplay, I think they're from SIN. One stage 5 replay where he beats TLB, but it's so low quality I can't make out the score, but it looks like he ends with 244mil.
Been wondering what TGA-RET uses too, my guess is that he uses 13-14/2 on stage 2 & 3 at least. I can match his counter on the scorpion ( even though I start it with only a 1k-2k counter ) with 13/2. On a perfect run I can almost match his counters on the third stage. Fourth stage doesn't matter I guess, fifth stage I haven't got a clue. (haven't reached it yet ;)
Perhaps there's some info in the DVD booklet?

I have a better score so that run is sadly quite-useless :(

I bet on a 2 A+ setup. A 13/14 for stage 2/3 as you suggest and a really STRONG one for bosses and levels... Man, I'd really like to have 2 A+ ~_~
Don't care about the second C+ in ULTRA. I would definitely look forward for it for maniac though.

Very good, I'm not excellent at the scorpion. What is your approach? Simply A+ then C+ at the right timing? I can perform a good scorpion (150 at MAX, 140 average) with my 14. With less 140 became the MAX ~_~

Yeah his stage 3 is not untouchable! I'd pay to see how many points DAME K.K can beat out of this stage in ULTRA!

I hate that stage! You cannot score...

His first part is quite doable. The second part of this stage is the HELL. His mid is very clever (in the context of a survival run), he raise the counter only with a quite strong A+ (well, maybe he has a 3 A+ setup!) to a good amount. You'd need godly dodging skills to do that...

I don't think so, unfortunately. Kotaro ha read something but nothing interesting, IIRC.

I try to not kill the first phase of the scorpion, to do this I start my C+ a little later than the DVD ( not a lot later though ) and try to avoid being directly in front of him. I think my best was 158 but my average is about the same as you.

Probably more luck with japanese. I tried asking INH but haven't gotten a reply...
BTW, what is your bomb distribution?
I use 3 on the first boss, 3-4 on second boss, 3-4 on the third boss. Fourth I really haven't got a strategy yet, but I usually use two just before the midboss, and often one on the second phase of the midboss (hate that pattern), and I need 3-4 for the 4th boss. I think I'm gonna try to optimize that a bit when I start playing again, first boss isn't that hard, and if I could save two bombs there I should be able to one-life to the 3rd stage at least.

I see. Just a question of timing. With A+14 I always keep the first form alive, with less then 14 I have to work a lot, I waste way too much with that...

3 for the first boss are definitely too much! I've seen your vid, but I thought you was screwing up that. I'm used (and Plasmo too) to use one bomb only, so I can use 3 of them on the second boss and often no-miss until stage 3. The rest is a mess, I need to work harder, but bosses require always at least 3/4 bombs, LOL :P
Two spots during the levels where I bomb 99% of the times are the first pattern of the 4th mid-boss and right after the mid-boss ~_~

A+4 is pretty common, so ok. C+1,5 is not surprising, it's just a little better (we can guess that it's better) that the one we're using. That makes me think again and again about how crappy is play on the PS2 without a real setup choice...
I'd really want to try to obtain an asymmetric autofire... Only I'm not sure about the exact frequency: is it 110, 1110, 100 or what? 110 I guess, but uhm.
